At the conclusion of every JJD Sports Mega Football Camp an awards ceremony takes place in which we hand out awards to the campers for their achievements during the week of camp. The coaches get together and determine who wins each award, and we base the decisions off the entire week of camp, not just the Mega Bowl on the last day. It’s not necessarily the best player at each position, but we take into account the athlete’s attitude, his coachability during the week and of course his performance during camp. With that being said, here are the award winners in the Senior division of the Pratt Mega Camp. The first major date for our 2010 Mega Camps has come and gone. April 23rd was the deadline to signup and pay online for a chance to be one of the “First 40″ to receive a free 5X7 picture at camp w/ our special guest courtesy of www.pec-sports.com for the Olathe camp.
The next major date is May 1st, and this is the big one … this is where you all have the chance to save money w/ the “Early Bird” discount. Despite our camp fees already being about 50% less than most camps of this nature, we still give this option to get an even lower price. We have decided to change the direction of adding the current 8th graders to the Mega Camp. Instead of having them be a part of the current Mega Camp structure, we are going to hold a Freshman Team Camp, in which we only invite 3-4 teams to come participate in the camp. The days will be spent in a more team environment rather than the focus on individual skills, and it will give their coaches another opportunity to work w/ their team in a competitive environment. There will be ample time to spend scrimmaging the other teams at camp, and w/ only allowing 3-4 teams to participate each team will get plenty of extra reps. We will also include “chalk-talk” sessions for the teams, and have a college coach assigned to each team for the duration of camp. Stay tuned for more details of this camp as they become available.
For the first time in the 8 years we’ve been doing our full-contact youth Mega Camps, we have decided to allow current 8th graders (next year’s freshman) into the mix. After hearing some favorable feedback we’ve decided to make it happen and give these athletes a chance to get an early jump on the competition, and help them prepare for high school football!
Don’t forget though, the online signup special for the first 40 athletes to signup by April 23rd is still in play, as well as the “Early Bird” discount til May 1st! Don’t wait and take the chance of missing these special deals.
