Ok, this is where we are going to outline the predictions from week 9 that didn’t go so well for us. I’d like to say that there weren’t many, but then again you can just look down to the story beneath and see that that wouldn’t be true! Anyway, here ya go (PS- we already discussed how bad of a choice our “Start-of-the-Week” was so you won’t find anymore talk of that here).
Predictions that made us look bad:
Todd Reesing- QB, KU- We thru Todd into the mix here despite his recent struggles because we knew in order for KU to stay in the ballgame they’d have to throw the ball against Tech. Well, here’s what ended up happening … he threw for 181 yards, fumbled a ball that was picked up and ran back for a TD, which eventually led to his benching w/ 7 minutes left in the game. Yup, you could say we “dropped the ball” on this pick.
Colt McCoy- QB, Texas – Picking Colt as our “Bust Alert” for last week I am still not convinced should be in our “looking bad” section this week. He definitely wasn’t horrible on the road at Okie State, throwing for 171 yards and 1 TD, but you would’ve expected more in a 41-14 trouncing of the Cowboys. Feel free to leave us a comment if you really feel he was a bust last week or not. I still think we can make the claim he was from a fantasy football perspective, but I’ll leave him in this section for now just cause it’s hard to put a 41-14 winner as a bust.
Daniel Thomas- RB, KSU – This seemed like a sure fire pick to be our bust alert of the week from the running back position. Thomas, despite being the Big 12’s leading rusher, was going up against a stifling defense only allowing 70 rushing yards per game, and proceeded to ring up 88 yards on 16 carries and scored a TD. K-State as a team ran for a 149 yards and 3 TD’s against the vaunted OU defense who had previously shutdown the likes of Texas and Kansas.
Others to mention who made us look bad: Toben Opurum- RB, KU – 11 yards and a TD; Oklahoma defense- gave up 30 points, 149 yards rushing and 3 rushing TD’s to K-State; Texas defense as a bust – only gave up 14 points to OSU on the road.
Later in the week check out our predictions for Big 12 week #10 ….
