Each year, JJD opens up a Camp Counselor spot for dads who would like to come to camp with their son. This year, we currently have two spots open at the Pratt Mega Camp for dads who are interested in participating. As a Camp Counselor, you will spend the four days of camp living in the dorms, eating meals w/ the campers and coaches and participating in all other camp activities. The Counselor would be able to assist coaches in drills during camp if they wish (or if the coaches need assistance w/ certain drills), or they can stand back and observe their son from drill to drill. As a Camp Counselor, there is responsibility that goes along w/ this spot to be a dorm supervisor at night, or a rec room supervisor at certain periods of the day when the campers have free time.
This spot is ideal for parents who have younger athletes attending camp, or if it’s their son’s first time away from home at a sleepover camp. The dad would have the option of bunking w/ their son in the dorm room, or you might prefer to let your son room with another camper, it’s totally up to you. It’s just a great way to get closer to the camp, and join in w/ your son to have a great camp experience! If anyone is interested please contact us to find out the details on how to participate in camp!
