Former Pratt Mega Camper, Tanner Giffin, has completed his final season of collegiate football at Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS. He did so by earning First Team All-KCAC as a punt returner and Honorable Mention utility player for a Bluejays football team that finished 8-2 w/ a #17 national ranking in the NAIA. For Tanner’s performance on the gridiron this season he has been selected to play in the USA Holiday Bowl taking place December 17th in Virginia Beach, Virgnia.
Giffin has been a part of the JJD Sports scene for a number of years, starting in junior high participating in our full-contact Pratt Mega Camp multiple times. During his time attending the Mega Camps, Tanner earned numerous honors on the field, such as Camp MVP, but was never able to take home the most coveted honor of ping pong champion, which he has still never recovered from! He was able to move on to college football at Tabor, and his experience as a collegiate player, as well as a coach for the Wichita Football Academy allowed him to return to our Mega Camps this past summer as an instructor. As you can see from the short video clip below, Tanner did a tremendous job coaching our young athletes, and the kids had a great time learning from someone who is where they want to be in the future.
JJD Sports plans to be at the USA Holiday Bowl to watch Tanner play in the game so keep checking back to our website and Facebook page to see pictures and updates (UPDATE: the bowl game was actually canceled so we were not able to get any pictures of Tanner in the game). It’s been great to follow a former JJD camper throughout his high school and college career culminating w/ this Holiday Bowl experience, and we wish Tanner nothing but the best in the future. Please feel free to leave comments below to wish Tanner luck as he wraps up his final game in college, and check out some of his coaching in the video below.
