Methodology
The first afternoon of camp is spent in helmets, t-shirts and shorts to allow the athletes to get use to wearing their helmets. The period is used to evaluate all of the players to see where the skill levels are, how the sizes and ages breakdown and then a large emphasis on the fundamentals of tackling to get ready for the full-contact action to start the next day.
The next two days are spent in individual offensive and defensive drills, team offensive and defensive drills as well as competitive periods throughout the day. Each athlete will have the opportunity to work with the positions they choose, and no JJD coach will ever force a young player to a certain position during camp drills. Keep in mind though, our coaches are some of the best in the business and they put athletes in positions for a living so if they do make a recommendation to a player it will always be in the best interest of the player, but never forced.
The Mega Bowl Jamboree
The Mega Bowl Jamboree is the grand finale of the JJD Sports Mega Camps! This is our live game that the athletes have been working towards during the entire 4 days of camp. This game takes place on the final day of camp, and we encourage all family and friends to attend.
Location
All overnight campers and instructors will stay in the dormitories at Ottawa University during their week of camp, and have full access to all the fantastic facilities on campus. There will be two athletes per room, and if your son has a roommate preference be sure to list it on your application.
Roommate requests are guaranteed until June 1st, after that the roommates are locked so make sure whoever you request for a roommate has also signed up for camp. There will be no changes the day of check-in at camp. All meals during the week of camp will take place at the Ottawa cafeteria.
Day campers will eat lunch along w/ the overnight campers during camp, and remain at the college during the lunch period. Please bring tennis shoes each day to change into.
Breakfast and dinner will not be provided for day campers, but they will be allowed to rejoin the other campers for any evening activity that generally begins around 7pm each night.
Cost
Camper Options for KC Mega Camp:
The camp fee covers housing for 4 days and 3 nights in the dorms with 24/7 adult and law enforcement supervision; all meals during the athlete’s stay at camp; and other evening activities during the week, such as movie nights, bowling, swim parties and speed clinics! Each athlete will also receive a camp t-shirt, autographs from special guests when available, chances to win prizes throughout the week and participating in the MEGA BOWL on the last day! This is the best overall value for your young athlete to attend camp, you won’t find an overnight full-contact camp with this many features anywhere for less!
This fee covers all of the same items as the Overnight camper except housing, dinner and the bonding experience w/ other athletes during the overnight experience. Lunches ARE covered. Day campers get dropped off at 8:45am and picked up at 4:45pm, but are invited to come back and participate in the evening activities usually starting at 7pm. This is a great option for your younger athlete if you’re not sure you want him to stay away from home. Please note: there could be times where the afternoon practice gets moved to the evening session if inclement weather, such as heat or lightning exist in the afternoon.
There are no refunds on equipment rental for absolutely any reason within two weeks of camp. If needed, equipment rental includes pants, practice jersey, helmet and shoulder pads. Equipment rental fee is one fee and does not matter if only one piece of the equipment is needed, the full amount will be charged.

Equipment
Each athlete is responsible for bringing their own equipment (full football gear, including fitted mouthpiece). If you are a member of a youth football league or school football team, your team should be able to provide you with the needed equipment. If not, athletes can rent the equipment ($100 before May 31st, or $125 after). Please note on your application if you plan to rent equipment. Equipment rental includes helmet, shoulder pads, hip, knee and thigh pads, as well as pants and a practice jersey if needed. Equipment rental is one price no matter how many items are needed, there is no a la carte pricing. If you sign up as not renting equipment, and switch to needing equipment after May 31st or at registration, the cost goes to full price. There are no refunds on equipment rental for absolutely any reason within two weeks of camp.
In addition, each overnight camper should bring a towel, t-shirts, shorts, football shoes, tennis shoes, sheets and pillows for twin beds, trash bag, alarm clock and anything else needed for a three night stay. Athletes may also bring spending money for concessions at the vending machines, or for other extra curricular activities that might be part of the camp, such as snacks at movie night or bowling, etc. If you have any questions feel free to contact us at info@jjdsports.com.
Activities
During the course of the week we have different skills competitions, games, non-football activities and speakers with awards at the end of the week. Our non-football activities can include things like a pool party, a movie night, bowling, speed and agility sessions or even game nights! On the last day of camp the athletes will participate in the MEGA BOWL JAMBOREE, which is a live game where the kids will be playing w/ the teams they’ve been practicing with all week. It’s complete w/ officials, a game announcer and all parents and family members are encouraged to attend. Refund Policy
The $100 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT is a guarantee of your availability to attend the JJD Mega Football Camp. Based upon your guarantee we hire the proper amount of coaches and staff to maintain our (better than) 10:1 camper to coach ratio. The administrative cost of operating a camp is affected every time a camper signs up… and then cancels. The forfeiture of deposits due to cancellation offsets the administrative cost incurred by processing campers and the hiring of staff and allows JJD Sports to maintain the most affordable full-contact camp in the country.
There are no refunds of the $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit unless provided w/ a medical reason from your doctor. If proper documentation is given, you will be entitled to a full refund if outside of two weeks. There are NO REFUNDS if you cancel within two weeks of your scheduled camp for absolutely ANY REASON other than medical. If you provide medical documentation of your reason to cancel inside of two weeks, you may be provided w/ a full refund less a $50 cancellation fee (half of your $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit). If canceling w/in two weeks you may choose to apply the full $100 to next year’s camp in lieu of losing half your deposit.
There are no refunds on equipment rental for absolutely any reason within two weeks of camp.
NOTE: Any refund requested after June 1st will not be processed until the conclusion of all camps under any circumstance.
